My adventurous husband and I took a road trip recently to Lowden, Washington where we visited The Blue Mountain Lavender Farm. Located in the Walla Walla Valley, this farm smelled heavenly, and boasted rows and rows of 25 different varieties of lavender.

We love the outdoors and the smells and sounds of God's creation and this farm did not disappoint. The weather was a beautiful 88 degrees, so nice after having several sauna sizzling 105 degree days. We enjoyed watching the bees take care of some major business, hearing the rooster sing his song, saw a very cool old red truck with many miles of working wear, and met some friendly donkeys. According to my husband, you can milk a donkey. Yes! Donkey's produce milk. A donkey's milk contains more sugar and protein than cow's milk and less fat. Topic for my next blog post, or just me digressing....
We had such a wonderful time exploring the lavender farm! We then drove from Lowden to Walla Walla, famous for their sweet onions, about 20 minutes away. We enjoyed exploring the small town and sharing ice cream cones at a local ice cream parlor. What a beautiful day with time away for my hubby and me!
We love taking road trips and can't wait to explore more of what Washington State has to offer. Stay tuned for our next adventure!
