FUN FALL ADVENTURE!

My mom and sister just left a few days ago after their 10-day visit to Washington State.  We had a great time here locally, and on our three-day road trip to central Washington.
ENJOY THE PICTURES!!

MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK

This was mine and hubbies third time this year visiting Mt. Rainier.  In May, the entire area of Paradise was being dug out of snow.  In July, we hiked in the snow, but it was still hot out.  This time we had beautiful warm weather & saw such vibrant fall colors.  The flora and fauna radiated God's beauty.  Breathtaking!

This looks like one of those old-fashioned post cards.

According to Mtrainierguestservices.com, Autumn is the best time to visit Mt. Rainier.  The crowds are gone and the fall colors are spectacular.  I would have to agree with them!

Hubby and Me

We stayed in a cozy little cabin just outside of the Mt. Rainier National Park, hot tub included!  The next day we drove a couple hours south to Mount St. Helen's.

According to one website, In 1980, a major volcanic eruption occurred at Mount St. Helen's.  The May 18, 1980 event was the most deadly and economically destructive volcanic eruption in the history of the United States.  Fifty-seven people were killed and 200 houses, 27 bridges, 15 miles of railways and 185 miles of highway were destroyed.

An article at Earthobservatory.nasa.gov explains that with water, sunlight, and time, vegetation came back to Mount St. Helen's National Volcanic Monument.  Mosses, grasses, shrubs, and then trees.  Ten million trees have been planted by the Forest Service on 14,000 acres.  The elk, fish, and tourists have come back too.

MULTNOMAH FALLS

We hiked up to the bridge at Multnomah Falls & then enjoyed lunch at the lodge.

We each played my sister at basketball and she won every time!  What a pro!

We love to find a putt-putt golf course any time we are on vacation.

KAYAKING ADVENTURE

(guess who's doing all the work, and who isn't)

Stopping for lunch

Love your smile my hubby!

We had a blast kayaking on the Columbia River.
My sister loved it most of all!  Thank you mom and sis for coming to visit us out here in Washington and for such a wonderful vacation.  We loved spending the week with you both and are so thankful you are part of our family.

Thanks for coming with the four of us on our adventure!
Have a blessed day,  Paula
